The motorcycle experts in Sheffield are selling a factory Ducati MotoGP bike ridden by Troy Bayliss, which competed in several races throughout the 2003 season.
The 989cc Desmosedici GP3 was ridden by Bayliss and Italian Loris Capirossi – marking Ducati’s first return to the premier class of GP racing in 30 years. The bike and team finished second in the constructors’ championship that year, with Bayliss achieving multiple podium finishes, including third places in Spain and Germany.
At the time of racing, Ducati claimed about 202.8 hp at 16,000 rpm for this machine, with a top speed of around 321.8 km/h, aided by a dry weight of just 145 kg.
As a result, this Bayliss machine is being advertised for a hefty £350,000 and still retains the distinctive red and white Marlboro livery from the era, along with Bayliss’s signature number 12.
