Miguel Oliveira started the MotoGP German Grand Prix in an encouraging way. The Trackhouse Racing rider was a constant presence in the top five of the first free practice session at Sachsenring, finishing in fourth place.
In the early stages of the session, the Portuguese rider was consistently in the top five, in fourth position, and was one of the first to enter the 1m21s to move up to second place with seven minutes gone.
During the first 15 minutes, Oliveira continued to show consistent pace for the top five, always returning to that area of the classification at a time when lap times were constantly improving. When he entered the pit with just under half an hour remaining, he was in fifth place.
Less than ten minutes later, #88 returned to the track, only to complete one flying lap. When there were less than ten minutes left and he had dropped to sixth, Oliveira embarked on his final sequence of laps… immediately reaching third place.
Until the end, “Falcão” did not improve and lost one position to Maverick Viñales (Aprilia). Nevertheless, it was a promising start, with fourth place just 0.522s behind the leader, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
