Misano is already one of the traditional stages of MotoGP – gaining special popularity with Valentino Rossi, who is from Tavullia, a town near the circuit. But it has also gained its place on the World Superbike calendar.
The current contract with Dorna for both championships expires at the end of 2026, but Misano is already thinking about renewal. Andrea Albani, director, spoke about the goals in an interview with the website GPOne.com:
– The renewal with Dorna is our priority and we are already working to continue our projects. The traditional renewal formula will be 3+2 [years], with the desired renewal until 2029.
Although it is a circuit with less prominence in major car racing events, Misano also has a new “client” for 2024: Formula E will hold the Italian round there, in an unusual event on a permanent circuit instead of a city track as is in the spirit of the electric single-seater championship.
