Miguel Oliveira was the 11th classified in the MotoGP Americas GP, but once again, he proved that top speed is not something lacking in the Aprilia RS-GP from Trackhouse Racing.
In fact, the Portuguese rider recorded a top speed of 349.5km/h in the main race in Austin, a mark identical to that of Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM). Ahead of both were Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who reached 350.6km/h.
The race winner, Maverick Viñales (Aprilia), was the fifth fastest with 348.3km/h, as well as Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) and Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati). Honda was the least competitive manufacturer in Austin, so it is not surprising that they were at the bottom of the table: Johann Zarco and Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda) only managed to reach 340.6km/h.
In the average of the best top speeds, Binder had the best record (348.6km/h), followed by Oliveira (347.4km/h) and Bagnaia (347.2km/h). Viñales was fifth in this statistical aspect as well. At the opposite end, with an average of the best speeds of 338.1km/h, Zarco and Nakagami also remained.
