Joan Mir had a not-so-positive weekend in Australia, once again demonstrating many difficulties in riding his Honda. In yesterday’s race, he ended up seeing a crash spoil a potential points conquest, thus ending the race earlier.
Today, in the debrief after the cancellation of the sprint, Joan Mir showed agreement with the decision not to hold the sprint, as the conditions worsened throughout the morning:
– Well, let’s say it was the expected Sunday, right? Honestly, this morning we tried the track with full conditions, but it was already complicated, but it was possible to ride. Then the conditions started to get worse and it was probably the right decision to cancel the sprint. We have to move on.
The 2020 world champion also said that in Thailand he hopes to be able to demonstrate all the potential of his Honda, with the help of the positive aspects he took from the Australian GP:
– Das Wochenende, das wir hatten, war nicht das beste, aber wir konnten etwas Positives für die kommenden Rennen mitnehmen. Ich denke, in Thailand können wir erneut unser Potenzial zeigen, und danke an alle für die Unterstützung.
