Aleix Espargaró was the one who achieved Aprilia’s first victories in MotoGP and in 2024 he will complete his eighth season with the Noale manufacturer. The bar is getting higher, but so are the ambitions of the rider and the team.
The Spaniard assured that he is prepared to face the season, stating during the presentation event: ‘I am very excited to start my eighth season as a factory rider for Aprilia. The project has grown a lot, a lot, a lot. You can only imagine how far we have come. I am very proud to still be here. I think I have the strongest human team behind me since I arrived eight years ago, so we are ready to fight‘.
Although recognizing that the competition is getting stronger, Espargaró emphasized the goal of achieving more victories: ‘Every season is a new challenge, it is increasingly difficult because younger riders are entering the category, our opponents – the other factories – are getting closer. The competition will be very high, but that’s why we are here, to compete against the best in the world. Today, Aprilia, we can say that we are in the best moment of our history. So, we will prove that and we will try to win more races‘.
Regarding the new RS-GP, #41 commented: ‘I think it’s beautiful. As you can see, a very “racing” livery and the first test was good, really positive. It is obvious that aerodynamics changes the way you ride the bike and we still need to do some more tests before the first race. But it looks promising‘.
