Jorge Martín leads the MotoGP World Championship after seven rounds, holding a 18-point lead over Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) is third, trailing by 35 points. In the last rounds, this trio has dominated the podium.
Despite the long season ahead, the Prima Pramac rider believes the current top three will be the main contenders for the title: ‘It’s still a really long championship. I think we are super equal in terms of performance at the moment. I think this will be the fight; as you could see for almost all the season, they were some riders who were able to win, but they are not consistent. I think we are consistent’.
While Martín acknowledges the difficulty of pinpointing the strengths of Bagnaia and Márquez, he is aware of his own key strength:
– For sure is difficult to see the strongest point of each other; for sure you need to improve race by race. For my side, I’m normally strong everywhere and this is my strongest point: that I’m able to keep that speed constantly always. And hopefully is worthly.
