The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is one of Ducati’s current satellite teams in MotoGP, not at the level of Pramac Racing – which is the only one to receive the latest version of the bike and the highest level of support.
However, it seems that everything is about to change. Paolo Campinoti’s team may be on its way to Yamaha, while VR46 is set to become the reference among the manufacturer’s secondary teams.
Team manager Uccio Salucci told La Gazzetta dello Sport that the new contract foresees this for 2027: ‘The draft agreement talks about two bikes from 2024 for next year, to then become the reference team from 2027‘.
That said, the Italian emphasized that nothing is finalized yet, with aspects to be analyzed: ‘Now it’s a matter of seeing the new scenarios, it will take some time‘.
If Pramac ends its connection to Ducati after 2024, VR46 could see its status improved as early as next year – which would please Marco Bezzecchi, third in the standings last year, and could lead to the arrival of rookie Fermín Aldeguer. However, Fabio Di Giannantonio is also performing well and the team may not want to lose him.
