One of the question marks in the MotoGP rider market for 2025 is the future of Marc Márquez. His contract with Gresini is only for this year, and Pramac is no longer an option, so to continue with Ducati there are only two scenarios – staying where he is or moving to the factory team.
In a press conference, the Spanish rider said that those who need to know what he intends to do are already informed: ‘Of course, we had some interesting conversations and the people who need to know where and with what I feel comfortable, they already know. I am very clear with my ideas and the only thing I can do is be fast on track because that way we will have more options to choose from‘.
Márquez, who confirmed that the Ducati factory team and Gresini are the only options within the Italian manufacturer, said he is required to have a deadline:
– Yes. I can’t say the deadline, but I have one. Because one thing is here on the tracks, but another thing is personal sponsors, all those things, that you need to know. In the coming months, big companies are closing budgets for the next two years. So, it’s something I need to have. I don’t like to have it, but I am forced to have a deadline to make my decision. Because, if not, if you choose one team or another, one strategy or another, some of my main sponsors may not work well with those teams. I hope it’s before Sachsenring.
