Ducati may have already made the difficult decision about who will be their other rider for the 2025 MotoGP season. And the choice seems to have fallen on Jorge Martín, current leader of the World Championship and competing for Pramac.
The newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that the decision has been made, after more intense conversations in recent days with the rider’s manager – Albert Valera. The Italian GP was set as the deadline for Ducati, although the manufacturer assures that there will be no announcements at Mugello.
According to the Motorsport.com website, the agreement is only expected to be signed after the Italian GP, as there are still some details to be resolved – particularly where other Ducati riders, such as Marc Márquez or Enea Bastianini, will fit in.
For the Spaniard, going to Pramac is out of the question. As for the Italian, if he does not stay at Ducati, he may have options with Aprilia, but it does not seem to be the manufacturer’s desire to lose his services.
At the press conference this afternoon in Mugello, Martín was confronted with this alleged decision, and dismissed the speculation: ‘Well, it’s true that the press is always speculating. So you always have to endure this information, but you have to deal with it. It’s part of the job and my job is to ride. So, I will try to be very focused. It’s a really important weekend for Ducati and for my team, so I will be 100 percent focused on that. And then on Monday and Tuesday we will have time to talk and see what happens‘.
