Without a contract for 2025, Marc Márquez is one of the riders whose future is more shrouded in speculation – after all, he is the one with the most world titles in the current grid.
The Spaniard joined Gresini this year, with the primary goal of regaining the sensations of competitiveness after the difficulties of recent years – whether due to injuries or due to the decline in competitiveness of the Honda.
One of the rumors is that Márquez could be an option for Aprilia. But how does the rider view this option? In a press conference, he began by emphasizing that he considers the Ducati to be the best bike currently:
– Now the European manufacturers are on a very good level. Of course for me the Ducati bike is the best one out there – or the one that has more potential in all the race tracks. For that reason, I chose the direction of the Ducati bike with Gresini team, but because I was looking for the best bike that I think was out there, and is still out there.
Regarding Aprilia specifically, the eight-time world champion noted that there is already evidence that winning is possible: ‘Of course Aprilia and KTM are closer and closer, and in this case that you asked me about Aprilia… Maverick [Viñales] proved that you can win races and even Aleix [Espargaró] last year was able to win in Montmeló’.
