Jorge Martín left the MotoGP Catalan GP with his lead reinforced, but didn’t win any of the races. This Sunday he finished second in the main race in Barcelona, behind Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
Satisfied with the result, the Spanish rider from Prima Pramac began by stating to the official broadcast: ‘I am very happy, very proud, with the race. Today was difficult, starting from seventh. But I got a perfect start in the first corner, moving up to fourth. Then, I felt great. I was saving some tire, but still I was overtaking all the riders‘.
Although he led for a few laps, Martín ended up not being able to hold off Bagnaia, nor to pressure the rival until the end as he tried to do, as he mentioned:
– At one point, I felt that Pecco had something more, I just tried to always keep the pace, and in the end I had nothing left. I just tried to finish. I saw that we had a big gap, I tried to put some pressure on Pecco, but it was difficult. Thank you all, it was a tough race and we are looking forward to the next one.
