Marc Márquez recently revealed that the Montmeló circuit is not one of his favorites. Nevertheless, the Spanish rider feels at “home” and hopes to do well this weekend.
According to motosan.es, Marc Márquez spoke about his expectations for the Catalan GP.
– If I win here, it’s because we’re very, very, very, very, very good. I’ve only won here in my two best years, which were 2014 and 2019, this year I think we’re good, but we’re not as good as in 2014 and 2019, so it’s one of the circuits that has always cost me a bit more than the others, the ones where I have a bit of difficulty, but I’m also looking forward to trying to see what it’s like with this Ducati, to see where we are and to see what we can do over the weekend
He added about the difficulties he might face: ‘Obviously I’ve always been on the podium, because then there’s the push from the fans, there’s the house, but I also don’t know if it was 2017 or 2018, where I crashed four or five times in one weekend. It’s one of those tracks where I have to work much harder than on others, where I always work harder, but I work harder to change my riding style, I work harder to work on the bike. I’m ready for this weekend, but the equality of MotoGP these days, two tenths and you’re out of Q2 and that changes the whole weekend. We’ll especially look at T2, those long corners, 3, 4… that’s normally a bit difficult for me. Then T4 as well, so we’ll be concentrating there to see if we can save it.’
