In 2021, a new project was presented to bring MotoGP to Hungary this year at a track in Debrecen. That initiative fell through, but now there are two other circuits on the table to host the premier class in 2025.
According to MotoGP.com, the promoter Dorna and the Hungarian Mobility Development Agency (HUMDA) are working on homologating the Hungaroring and Balaton Park.
The updated agreement aims to include Balaton Park as a replacement circuit in MotoGP as early as next year before its official inclusion in the calendar in 2025. The last time the premier class visited Hungary was in 1992.
