EICMA 2023 is over, in the year of its 110th anniversary, and the figures for this edition are being crunched. In a statement, EICMA underlines the success of the Milanese show, which welcomes 2023 with more than 560,000 attendees (563,848 to be exact), which is equivalent to +19% compared to 2022, figures that attest to the 2023 edition as the best in EICMA’s history.
“The Olympics of Passion and Mobility on Two Wheels” was attended by no less than 2036 brands (an all-time record for the event), with more than 700 direct exhibitors, 67% of whom came from abroad representing 45 countries. More than 30% of the companies were present for the first time in the eight pavilions occupied, two more than in 2022 and three more than in 2021.
Very consistent business-related data: 39,392 commercial operators, selected and profiled according to the renewed quality criteria introduced in 2022, visited the Exhibition in this 2023 edition. Of these, 52% came from abroad and, in particular, from 120 different countries.
Good news also about the data on media attendance: just over 7,000 people from 62 countries, journalists, technicians and media professionals, content creators, who took advantage of the exclusive press day on Tuesday and reported on the spectacle on offer inside and outside the pavilions throughout the exhibition week. And speaking of the entertainment offered by the Expo, the success of the MotoLive arena, the open-air space dedicated to racing, entertainment and show business, was also considerable, with more than 3,000 seats in the stands always occupied. Almost 9,000 visitors also took advantage of the test ride areas dedicated to e-Bikes and exhibitors’ vehicles, and the Esports Arena, the exhibition content dedicated to the world of video games, was also a success. Also noteworthy was the interest that developed around the YUM (Your Urban Mobility) area, another novelty for 2023, which welcomed companies, institutions, law enforcement agencies, but also the most innovative start-ups in the sector, to which EICMA offers an international showcase thanks to the support of ICE, the Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies.
Finally, reactions to the digital services were positive, particularly those related to online ticket sales, a purchase method chosen by 88% of the general public, while 12% opted for the physical box office.
