Eric Granado set the pace in the first practice session of the MotoE World Championship in Barcelona. The Catalunya GP is the third round for the electric bike championship.
After the initial laps, Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) was in the lead, but was soon surpassed by Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP). The times continued to improve, with Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini) and Granado (LCR E-Team) taking turns at the top.
With just over ten minutes remaining, Spinelli regained the lead, only to be overtaken once again by Garzó. The Italian reacted immediately to reclaim the top spot.
However, Granado set two fast laps at the end that no one could beat, finishing as the fastest with a time of 1m49.130s. Spinelli was second by just 41 milliseconds, followed by Garzó at 0.219s.
The top five was completed by Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) and Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt Intact GP), with championship leader Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) finishing sixth, 0.377s behind Granado.
