In recent years, Honda has experienced a clear decline in performance in MotoGP. More than a decade after their arrival in 2010, Tetsuhiro Kuwata – currently the director of Honda Racing Corporation – witnesses a challenging period following several triumphs in the premier class.
In a short documentary by Honda, the Japanese director admitted that facing this decline is not easy but also views it as an opportunity: ‘These kinds of poor results are hard to accept… They completely change your mindset. It’s a great opportunity to achieve something’.
On the other hand, Kuwata emphasized the importance of acknowledging the past while seeking improvements: ‘We should respect the past. When you’re going through difficulties, sometimes you need to look back. Sometimes you might find something that can help you in your future’.
