After a swift entry into Moto3 with the world title in his first year, Pedro Acosta moved up to Moto2 in 2022 with high expectations. However, the start was challenging, taking about half a season to find competitiveness and consistency. He even suffered a complicated femur injury before the summer break.
The Spanish rider, who debuts in MotoGP this year, admitted in a DAZN documentary that it was a mentally challenging season until he got injured during training… which he considers to have been helpful:
– I wanted to be champion, but there was more pressure. I cried a lot during that season; I didn’t understand what was happening in my life. […]. It’s not worth being upset for anyone. It’s not about thinking of retiring, but it’s worth it. Getting injured helped me a lot.
