Marco Bezzecchi arrives at the Catalunya GP in 10th position in the MotoGP World Championship, even behind his teammate, Fabio Di Giannantonio, in 9th place overall.
In the debrief, the Italian rider talked about his expectations for the weekend, after suffering a crash in Le Mans that left him out of the points.
– I don’t have expectations yet, I hope to start the weekend in a good way. In Le Mans I was fast, but I ended up not bringing anything home. It’s a tricky track in terms of grip, but also for front grip and front tire, I hope I can use that as an advantage for me.
Faced with the Ducati’s decision on choosing the next rider for the factory team, Bezz replied: ‘I’m not upset for not being mentioned. They are better than me at the moment, I don’t blame anyone. Of course, after last year, I deserved a factory bike, but I don’t blame anyone. Right now my goal is to come back stronger, by doing that I will have more chances of getting a factory bike, which is the goal of all MotoGP riders. Right now Martín, Marc, and Bastianini deserve it more. For me, Martín deserves the spot more, he fought for the title last year and leads the championship this year with a good advantage. Anyway, he is very fast, I think he is the fastest of the Ducati riders at the moment, Pecco is also doing very well. Overall, all eight Ducati riders are very fast. Pecco is still getting up to speed, in my opinion.’
