Last week, Yamaha held a private MotoGP test at Mugello. Fabio Quartararo was pleased with the work done, and part of it will already be applied this weekend at the Catalunya GP.
The Frenchman said: ‘It was good, because we were able to analyze well where the main priority is to test and improve from now until the end of the season. This is great. We don’t know how we will improve, but we know where it is‘.
According to Quartararo, the aerodynamics tested at Mugello will already be used in Barcelona: ‘Then we used the new aerodynamic package that was better for Cal [Crutchlow], better for me, and better for Álex [Rins]. So, we will use it during this weekend‘.
Regarding the new engine, the 2021 champion clarified: ‘In the Jerez race, we were using the new engine. You can’t completely change an engine, but we are working on trying to improve it for this year‘.
