Pedro Acosta suffered his first crash in a main race since joining MotoGP at the French GP. Nevertheless, he continues to show he is capable of fighting for top positions and already has two podiums in just two races, impressing in each round with his quick adaptation skills.
Former rider Ruben Xaus is also following with interest the early steps of this young talent. In the podcast Dura La Vita, the current TV commentator praised Acosta:
“Acosta is like he has been in MotoGP for 20 years. I applaud him every time I see him on TV. Here in each race things change, so he has evolved with little pressure because there is more than one adapting. You see that everything is changing, and he sees himself so capable and people have put him so high, that he has grown. In Le Mans it is very easy to fall and he fell, nothing more.”
After finishing ninth in Qatar, Acosta was third in Portugal and second in Austin, where he fought for the victory during part of the race. However, he had a drop in results entering Europe with a tenth place in Jerez and a retirement in France. Currently, the Spanish rider is sixth in the championship.
