Enea Bastianini was unable to climb onto the podium at the French GP, which happened for the second consecutive round. Next up is the Catalunya GP in Barcelona… which was far from being one of the easiest for the Italian last year.
At the time, a crash in the main race left the Ducati rider with fractures in an ankle and a hand, forcing him to miss three rounds – including the home race in Misano.
Now back in Barcelona, Bastianini hasn’t forgotten that incident, but assured that he is confident, aiming to once again compete for the top positions:
– Unfortunately, I don’t have good memories of Barcelona last year, considering the accident I had in the race that forced me to miss three more GPs. Despite that, I arrive at Montmeló calm and confident: race after race, I am getting faster, and I am improving consistently. We have a good foundation to build on, and the goal is to continue fighting for the top positions.
So far, Bastianini has not missed the top five in a main race, being the only one to achieve this so far in 2024. Fifth places in Qatar and Spain were his worst results in the first five rounds.
