There is already certainty of a rookie in MotoGP in 2025, with the arrival of Fermín Aldeguer to a satellite team of Ducati yet to be confirmed. But could the Spanish rider come with other current rivals in Moto2?
For now, one of the riders pointed to the premier class is Joe Roberts, especially to Trackhouse Racing for being from the United States of America. But there are other talents that may aspire to make the leap, such as the current championship leader, Sergio García, or last year’s runner-up, Tony Arbolino.
There are many contenders for few places. Carlo Pernat, a rider’s manager, spoke to the site GPOne.com and assessed the possibility of there being more rookies besides Aldeguer in 2025:
– It will depend a lot on whether Yamaha will create a second team or not and if Aprilia also needs to make some changes at Trackhouse. Rumors talk about Joe Roberts, so he could secure a place. Maybe there is another one at Yamaha, Arbolino needs to wake up a bit, and also [Celestino] Vietti, who if he were fast would have surely jumped with KTM.
