The task for Yamaha to have a satellite team in MotoGP in 2025 is proving difficult. The two possibilities on the table were Pertamina Enduro VR46 and Prima Pramac Racing, currently with Ducati – the manufacturer that currently dominates the premier class.
It seems that VR46 has already rejected the change, while according to the Motorsport.com website, on the sidelines of the French GP ‘something happened’ that exponentially increased the chances of Pramac continuing with Ducati – to 95 percent.
And an unidentified member of Yamaha admitted that these are the only alternatives: ‘Our first alternative was always VR46, but we couldn’t convince them. So Plan B is Pramac and we hope they accept the offer we made them. There is no Plan C‘.
The Iwata manufacturer considers the proposal to Pramac ‘very interesting’, therefore, hopes that it will be accepted. The deadline for Pramac to confirm the continuation with Ducati is at the end of July, being able to activate or not the clause for two more years. It is expected that, if they continue, they will once again have two current factory bikes.
