Carlo Merini is the sales and marketing director of Gresini Racing, in statements to AS, spoke about Marc Márquez’s spectacular performance at the French GP.
Merini began by talking about the overtaking on the last lap of Francesco Baganaia.
– Marc repeated in the race on Sunday what he had done in the Sprint race, going from thirteenth place to second. He had a typical Marc race, with some incredible overtakes.
He added: ‘For us, third place was already perfect, but for him it wouldn’t have been perfect. A podium is always a podium, but Marc is someone who, when he sees an opportunity, always takes it. And the overtaking move on Pecco was fantastic. Marc put on another show. That overtake, on the last lap, was absolutely clean. It scared me when he launched himself from so far back. It wasn’t just the points at stake, but also many post-race discussions in case of an accident.’
