Over the years, SpeedUp/Boscoscuro has been growing in the Moto2 World Championship and is now a serious rival to Kalex. In fact, four of the top five in the championship standings at this point are those who have bikes from the Italian manufacturer. But is MotoGP part of the future plans?
The team owner, Luca Boscoscuro, was asked by the website GPOne.com if this idea had ever been considered. And in response, he admitted that it would be difficult to realize his ambitions if it were to move to the premier class:
– It is logical that this would be the top, but to make such a leap you need the basics, including at the economic level. Going there just to participate is not my ambition, I would like to fight to finish in the top five and that is much more complicated currently.
On the other hand, Boscoscuro was not entirely pleased with the 2027 regulations: ‘In my opinion, the reduction in displacement is too small. I think by 2027 the 850 cubic centimeter engines will already have the performance of the 1,000cc. From an aerodynamic point of view, it is good that they are eliminating the height adjustment devices, I did not expect otherwise. I was thinking of more restrictive regulations because the bikes are now beautiful, but they are very, very fast‘.
