Ducati has a rider to be confirmed for the 2025 season in its factory team in MotoGP. There are three riders seen as main candidates – Enea Bastianini, Jorge Martín, and Marc Márquez. But Fabio Di Giannantonio also aims to get there.
Bastianini is currently the holder of the position, but he is at the end of his contract and has to prove that he deserves the renewal. Martín is already in Prima Pramac and leads the championship by a large margin, after being the runner-up last year. Márquez arrived at Gresini this year and, with the results showing up, he will hardly want to continue in a satellite team.
Di Giannantonio, who in 2023 was close to losing his place in the pack, is doing well in the Pertamina Enduro VR46: he has always finished in the top ten of the main races so far and has consistently beaten his teammate Marco Bezzecchi – third in the championship last year.
Quoted by Motosan.es, DiGia admitted that he also dreams of reaching Ducati, showing the natural ambition of a rider even though he is not considered one of the main candidates for the position:
– Why not me? We have to work a bit, but that is also my goal in reality. If you are in MotoGP you cannot aspire to be in the background, I want to improve to become the best in the world and have the best bike. However, the three are very strong.
