Jack Miller shared a mix of humor and frustration after the French Grand Prix. During the warm-up, Miller felt so comfortable on his KTM that he joked he could have smoked a cigarette while riding, if he were a smoker. However, this comfort did not last long, as the race unfolded with unforeseen challenges.
Despite a promising start, Miller’s race took a turn due to grip and stability issues. He struggled with a front tire problem that reappeared during the race, eventually causing an accident on lap 17. The incident occurred at turn 11, at the entrance of the “Garage Bleu” section, where the front wheel locked during braking. Miller was puzzled by the accident, as his approach had remained consistent throughout the race.
“Sunday morning, everything seemed to be going well. I was able to complete laps in 1’31 minutes with disconcerting ease,” said Miller with a touch of irony. “Frankly, I was so comfortable that I could have smoked a cigarette while driving, if I were a smoker.”
“In the race, the story was different. I felt like I had no grip at all. The other riders were accelerating smoothly out of the corners and I was stagnating.”
“We had already had problems on Saturday, so we opted for the harder front tire on Sunday. Everything seemed resolved in the morning, but during the race, the problem reappeared as if nothing had happened.”
