One of the performance analysis data for motorcycles is speed – both average and top speed. In the French GP, despite not being the most competitive constructor, KTM led in this aspect with Brad Binder. Miguel Oliveira reached one of the lowest speeds in the Le Mans race.
With an average speed of 322.9km/h in the top five highest speeds, Binder (Red Bull KTM) led on average and also in top speed – reaching 324.8km/h… as well as Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati).
In third place in top speed is Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) with 323.7km/h, while in the average of the top five speeds, the Spanish rider was second with 322.3km/h. Four more riders exceeded 320km/h on average – Enea Bastianini (Ducati), Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Álex Rins, and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).
Despite being the winner, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) was far from being one of the fastest: 319km/h in the best top speed and 319km/h in the average of the top five speeds. At the bottom of the table, the slowest in the French GP was Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) – with a top speed of 315.5km/h and an average of 315km/h. Immediately ahead of him was Augusto Fernández (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM).
As for Miguel Oliveira, the Portuguese rider from Trackhouse Racing, riding an Aprilia, he was 19th in terms of top speed (318.5km/h) and 15th in terms of the average of the top five speeds (317.3km/h). The rider spent the race in the middle of the pack, had a technical issue, and eventually had to retire after 16 laps.
