Enea Bastianini finished the Le Mans GP in fourth position. The Italian rider couldn’t keep up with the pace of his rivals in the fight for the podium and ended up scoring 13 points for the championship behind his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia.
In the debrief, the Italian rider expressed frustration with the race and talked about his feelings at the Le Mans GP.
“I am frustrated because for me it was important to win the race today because I had the pace for it. I had the long lap penalty and tried to catch up again, but it was impossible. I think I lost a lot of time with the long lap. We tried new solutions and one of them was very good for me. I was very fast with the tires and was confident for the race, and in the end I was fast, but many mistakes during this weekend gave me nothing, two fourth places.”
Asked about the possibility of leaving the factory team at the end of the year after rumors of Jorge Martín or Marc Márquez joining, Enea replied: ‘The feeling is strange because I have the speed, but sometimes we need luck and right now it’s not happening for me. I think Ducati sees my potential, but they know what Jorge is doing so far, he is a very fast rider and won the race.’
