Fabio Quartararo finished the Le Mans GP without scoring points. The French rider at his “home” GP was unable to finish the race and thus remains in 12th place in the MotoGP World Championship.
In the debrief, the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team rider talked about the feelings and events during Sunday’s race.
– Unfortunately, I crashed, but I was in 6th place and at least we gave our best during the weekend. I felt that this will be our new base for the upcoming GPs, today I felt that I was riding very well, we now have the tests in Jerez to see where we stand and to improve these things, I think we are on the right track.
Asked how he felt about being back in the fight with the Aprilia riders during the race: ‘Psychologically it was good, of course I am frustrated for not finishing the race, but I managed to be close to the front riders and Aleix, seeing the podium riders was good, my pace was not bad. Today was the first race where we were able to fight and step by step we are improving, it will take time but it will come. I was on the limit from the first lap, when you are in front of your home crowd you want to give everything, but I think I pushed too hard and crashed because I was giving it my all.’
