This Saturday, Jorge Martín was the standout rider at the French MotoGP Grand Prix. The Pramac rider took pole position and dominated the Le Mans Sprint race, beating Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) by 2.280s.
The Spaniard told the official broadcast that his approach was to isolate himself at the front and, after Marco Bezzecchi’s incident (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati), he tried to stay calmer:
– I’m so happy! The pace was impressive. I knew that starting from the front, the strategy was to escape. It was difficult because Marco was also doing good laps, but when I saw his crash, I just tried to maintain my consistent pace, trying to finish very calmly.
Martín looked ahead to the main race and didn’t forget to speak to the fans on site: ‘Tomorrow will be a long race, with unpredictable weather. Today we got the win, we have to enjoy it. Thanks to this crowd, because winning in places like this is fantastic‘.
