This Friday, David Alonso was unstoppable in Le Mans, also leading the first practice session of the French Moto3 GP. Just like in the free practice, he beat the circuit record lap.
The Colombian from CFMoto Gaviota Aspar was the first to complete a flying lap, but was soon overtaken by Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda) and David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM) in the early flying laps.
Ángel Piqueras (Leopard Racing/Honda) was the next rider at the top of the timing sheets, where he remained for about 11 minutes before being surpassed by Alonso. The South American rider put together a series of fast laps that briefly put him in the lead.
With 26 minutes completed, Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) took the lead, only to be overtaken by Joel Esteban (CFMoto Gaviota Aspar) shortly after. But it was Alonso who set the pace with a lap of 1m40.470s, staying 0.480s ahead of teammate Esteban. Holgado was third, followed by José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) rounding out the top five.
