MotoGP is about to undergo major changes in three years and Álex Rins believes that these changes are good for the sport, with smaller engines being the main change, he believes.
In Le Mans, for the fifth round of the championship, the rider was asked about these changes that were confirmed this week, and looking ahead to what his opinion is regarding the ban on devices that adjust the “height” of the bike, starting in 2027, Rins said:
– If we ask the guys from Ducati, who have a very good system, they will say something else, but for me I prefer [MotoGP] without, like in the past, 2020 or 2019. When I came to MotoGP was when the wings started to appear, the new wings, so I like MotoGP more without rear and front devices. But, for sure, I think in 2027 the displacement [from 1000 to 850] will be a bigger change than with the wings, but we will see.
Regarding the data shared by all riders and manufacturers, the Spanish rider added: ‘For sure it can help [the team], it will help a lot, for the rider I think it’s more about the engineers and things like that’.
