The Spanish GP was the most challenging for Pedro Acosta in MotoGP so far. A crash in qualifying relegated him to tenth place on the starting grid, seriously compromising his result.
The rookie managed to finish second in the Sprint race, but in the main race he could only reach tenth place. It was his worst result so far, but also an opportunity to learn.
The team manager of Red Bull GasGas Tech3, Nicolas Goyon, stated in a press release: ‘Pedro has shown an incredible level of performance, but a small mistake in qualifying in Jerez put him in difficulty for the rest of the weekend, but it’s part of the learning process‘.
The Frenchman is confident that Acosta will apply this lesson in the upcoming French GP next weekend: ‘Surely he will use the experience he has now, along with the things that were worked on during the Jerez test, to show in France‘.
Before the French GP, Acosta is fourth in the championship with 69 points, 23 points behind the leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati). He already has two podiums in main races so far.
