KTM had a busy testing Monday in Jerez de la Frontera. There was a lot of new material to test throughout the day, which was not without some setbacks although interesting solutions were found.
Red Bull KTM team manager, Francesco Guidotti, spoke to the official MotoGP website about the tests at the Spanish circuit, starting with a general summary:
– We had something to test in all areas. […]. The morning was very good, then there was a bit too much wind blowing to make a proper comparison. But we found something interesting. Maybe in the short term we will use something. There was some suspension testing, rear height device, aerodynamics.
Next, the Italian revealed: ‘We had a small issue with aerodynamics, so we fell behind a bit in testing with all the riders. It is one of the three tests we have during the season, so we have to be fully committed to it‘.
According to Guidotti, KTM has been trying to provide the same parts to all riders, to have a variety of opinions: ‘They are the same parts that we try to rotate with all four riders, because it is always better to have more opinions than just one. As you know, all four bikes are the same, all four riders have the same specification. So, whenever possible, we rotate the test parts to have more feedback from the riders‘.
