In September, the Cremona Circuit will host the World Superbike Championship for the first time in history. This debut required some changes to the infrastructure, which represented a significant investment.
Between January and March, repaving works, track improvements, and an increase in the fan zone took place – now with a capacity for about 20,000 fans. There was a particular focus on turns 11, 12, and 13, with a new vehicle entrance created separate from the pedestrian entrance to improve accessibility conditions to the circuit.
In addition to the physical changes to the circuit, Cremona refreshed its image with a new logo. According to the official WSBK website, this was ‘designed to incorporate vital aspects of riding a motorcycle to its maximum,’ as well as including the colors of the Cremona region (red and gray).
Making its debut on the calendar, the Cremona Circuit will be the second round of the season in Italy after Misano. It is scheduled for September 20-22, and being the penultimate round of the season, it may even witness the crowning of champions.
