After an intense battle in the Season 2 opener in Osaka – where the leading teams were separated by just one point – the E-Xplorer World Cup now sets its course for the second round in Oslo, Norway.
Carina Munte, CCO of FIM E-Xplorer, stated: ‘Taking E-Xplorer to new countries is something we have always considered and it’s great to see the hard work paying off. The Oslo World Cup will be one of our best events ever and I am looking forward to getting started’.
Valentin Guyonnet, Executive Director of FIM E-Xplorer, added: ‘The first round in Osaka was a great preview of what’s to come in the second season. Close races have been at the heart of E-Xplorer from the beginning and this year doesn’t seem to be any different. We’ll have to see who comes out on top on Saturday’.
The Oslo World Cup round will feature the participation of several national riders in the series. GF Logistikk, racing in Stark Future, has two Norwegian riders, Vilde Marie Holt and Even Heibye. In addition to the GF Logistikk team, three other riders will proudly represent their home country: Andrine Osland, Mette Fidje, and Runar Sudmann. Sudmann will race for INDE Racing in place of the injured Spenser Wilton.
Returning to the E-Xplorer paddock in Norway, SEVEN Racing will race with Stark Future to kick off their 2024 campaign. The team has selected experienced riders Mette Fidje and Gabriel Jairala to lead the team.
Other changes in the team include Bonnell Racing and PCR-E Performance moving from the GT class to the Hyperbike category. The teams have chosen to use Stark Future machinery to propel them during the Oslo World Cup. In the GT class, Jessica Gardiner and Jack Field from AUS-E Racing will race with EBMX bikes. Growth in this category is expected to continue in the following rounds, fueled by the opening of more wildcard applications. The next three rounds in Norway, France, and Switzerland will be crucial for earning vital points for the championship, before E-Xplorer heads to this year’s final in India. All teams will be looking for a strong performance in Norway this week to solidify their position in the championship race. Source: fimexplorer.com
