Ducati continues to dominate the 2024 MotoGP season in this early stage. After missing out on victory in Austin, they returned to the top of the podium with Francesco Bagnaia’s (Ducati) triumph in Jerez.
By winning for the third time in four rounds, along with Jorge Martín’s (Prima Pramac/Ducati) victory in the Sprint race, Ducati scored the maximum points for the constructors’ championship in Jerez – 37 points.
At the moment, they are 38 points ahead of KTM – which means they have a lead greater than the maximum points possible in a single Grand Prix. Aprilia is third with 82 points. The Japanese manufacturers continue at the bottom of the standings, with Yamaha in fourth place, 106 points behind the leader and 14 points ahead of Honda.
In the team championship, Ducati Lenovo Team also strengthened their lead. They reached 145 points, 43 more than Aprilia. Prima Pramac Racing leads among the independent teams, in third place overall, 47 points behind Ducati. Gresini and Red Bull KTM follow.
At the opposite end are, not surprisingly, the teams from the Japanese manufacturers: Monster Energy Yamaha is ninth with 31 points, Repsol Honda is tenth with 12 points, and LCR Honda, with nine points, is the only team that has not yet reached double digits, closing the classification.
