Solidarity initiative draws attention to road safety and support for people with reduced mobility – who in modern Portugal continue to face extreme difficulties. The adventure starts on June 1st, crosses 15 countries, and ends 30 days later, at 307 meters above sea level, over the Sea of Norway and the Barents Sea. Goal: raise €1 for each kilometer, €13,000 to be donated to the Salvador Association.
This could be the story of five adventurous friends, passionate about the endless road drawn on two wheels, by that feeling of infinite freedom renewed with each trip. Five friends who set off towards Cape North, on a route of 13,000 km, passing through 15 countries and ending at 307 meters above sea level, over the Sea of Norway and the Barents Sea. But it is much more than that.
The adventure is also a solidarity mission, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of road safety and the difficulties that people with reduced mobility continue to face in modern Portugal. Therefore, the Nordkapp 2024 Expedition hits the road on June 1st, proposing to raise the symbolic amount of €1 for each kilometer, a minimum of €13,000, which will be donated, directly and in full, to the Salvador Association. The donation process is simple: through bank transfer (IBAN: PT50 0007 0000 0003 0526 6772 3 – description Norway) or MBWAY (927 639 010 – description Norway).
“No difficulty can be greater than the will to approach this cause. And no difficulty can be greater than the strength of all those who want to join this initiative. We are passionate about the challenge of the road, but we believe in true values of sharing, respect, ethics, and citizenship. We believe in a safe road. And we believe that, through the road, we can help all those who can no longer move like us, supporting the fantastic mission of the Salvador Association. We therefore appeal to all interested parties, friends, anonymous individuals, or even companies, to join this cause and help people with reduced mobility,” says Fábio Queirós, a 33-year-old computer engineer and one of the protagonists of this adventure. In addition to Fábio Queirós, the group also includes Jorge Baltazar (47 years old, Osteopath), Pedro Martins (44 years old, Industrial Engineer), André Matos (46 years old, Independent HerbaLife Distributor), and Raphael Alvim (39 years old, Real Estate Consultant). All discuss the expectations around this adventure on https://www.cabonorte2024.pt/. And through the official social media channels, on Instagram and Facebook, they aim to document the experience day by day.
