Whatever was tested by Gresini Racing, alongside Álex Márquez, during the MotoGP Tests yesterday in Jerez, remains a secret as the rider could not reveal what he worked on specifically. However, there were improvements mainly in the feeling of the front end with the Desmosedici, he assured.
Speaking about the work done, #73 was not allowed to reveal much: ‘It’s good to be here, but I can’t say anything’. Nevertheless, there were some areas that deserved more attention and had positive feedback: ‘We tried some things, especially to improve the feeling with the front of the bike. Because with this bike, this year, we are having some problems in stopping the bike and understanding how. And with the few things we tried this Monday, we improved. It was a positive day for us, to better understand how we have to stop the bike’.
And this was a problem he has been dealing with, so it was imperative to understand more: ‘Yes, understand how the engine brake works and how to put weight on the front tire. We improved that with some things and especially with the geometry. So it’s important’.
Just like Aleix Espargaró, A. Márquez also did not have the best sensations with the new tire that Michelin brought for the Test: ‘I tried a front tire, more similar to the medium one, with new technology and ‘blah, blah, blah’. But it didn’t work very well. So, I already gave feedback to Michelin and I hope they don’t bring them back. They are testing a new technology on the medium tire, which everyone likes, and they are working with it in all factories. But, in this case, it’s not working well’.
