The Jerez GP was the restart of the championship, Jorge Martín, MotoGP world leader, suffered a crash in Sunday’s race and, with the victory of his rival Francesco Bagnaia, reignited the fight for the premier class title.
Carlo Pernat, in statements to GPOne, talked about some protagonists who surprised and disappointed at the Spanish circuit and the crash that restarted the championship.
– ‘Good return from Bezzecchi, given the difficulties he had at the beginning with the 2023 bike. Binder is not what he used to be, and Miller is fading away. I think the key to the future of this season is Martin’s crash. With all the points he had, maybe he could have managed them a little better, because sometimes managing the lead in points wins the championship. It’s a shame for him’.
He also added, commenting on the performance of Aprilia and Maverick Viñales: ‘Disappointed with Aprilia. Even today Viñales had a bad start, he has these ups and downs that I hope not to see again. I think he can compete for the championship if he solves these problems’.
