After a weekend that ended with a MotoGP classic, Jerez hosts a day of testing today and after an hour few laps have been completed on the Spanish track but it is Marc Márquez who leads and is the only one to lap within the 36-second mark. Miguel Oliveira is performing well and is in third place.
With the first hour of testing completed in Jerez, Marc Márquez, with four laps completed, is the fastest on track with a lap time of 1:36.826s, with Fabio Di Giannantonio 0.288s behind in second place, while Miguel Oliveira, similar to yesterday, is currently the best on track with the Aprilia RS-GP, 0.423s (six laps) behind #93.
Álex Márquez is fourth and Aleix Espargaró closes the top five, with Brad Binder, Raúl Fernández, Francesco Bagnaia, and Enea Bastianini within the top ten.
It is important to note that the tests are just that, tests, and that the riders and teams are not always looking to extract the best performance from the bike and set faster times, but rather using parts, adjustments, configurations, etc., that may be useful to them for the rest of the season or already preparing for the next one.
