Miguel Oliveira delivered a solid performance in the MotoGP Spanish GP race, finishing in eighth place. It is the best result of the season so far for the Trackhouse Racing rider, who was the top Aprilia from start to finish.
A strong start from the Portuguese rider, who climbed from 14th to eighth on the first lap, then reaching seventh on the next lap. It was in this seventh position, as the top Aprilia rider, that he settled in for the following laps.
In fact, Oliveira managed to maintain a narrow but solid gap to Enea Bastianini (Ducati), while also staying not far behind Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) ahead of him.
On lap 11, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) crashed while leading, allowing the Portuguese rider to move up to sixth. He was less than two seconds behind the podium positions and continued to set good lap times. However, on lap 12, he lost sixth place to Bastianini.
As the race unfolded, Oliveira settled in seventh, but Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) was not far behind. The Italian eventually made the pass two laps from the end.
Therefore, the rider from Almada finished in eighth place, which he held without any major issues until the end, beating Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) by 0.238s to be the best of the RS-GP quartet.
