Miguel Oliveira concluded the first free practice of the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix in 15th. The Trackhouse Racing rider never made it into the top ten of the session, where preparation is the focus and lap times that don’t count for anything.
Start of the session with a lap where #88 stayed in 17th place, entering the pits after the second flying lap. As a result, he dropped to 24th – only ahead of Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) who was still in the garage.
Just over ten minutes later, Oliveira began the second sequence of laps, and despite an immediate improvement, he was at the bottom of the timesheets. He progressed to 18th and later to 11th.
After four laps, he returned to the pits when he was in 12th place and about halfway through the session. Upon returning to the track fifteen minutes before the end, the rider was already in 13th place. Unable to improve, he dropped to 14th and when he made progress in lap time, he couldn’t go beyond that position.
Until the end, Oliveira never set a better time and lost a position, finishing the session in 15th. He was 1.419s behind the leader, Álex Márquez (Gresini/Ducati).
