Mutt has become known for manufacturing retro-style scrambler motorcycles throughout its nearly 10-year history, and the new DRK-01 doesn’t stray far from that pattern. Technically, however, the bike is completely new compared to any other model Mutt has previously introduced.
Built “from the ground up,” as Mutt says, the DRK-01 features a completely new engine and a completely new double cradle frame. Even the wheels, built by Mutt themselves, are new: 18 inches on both ends, featuring stainless steel spoked rims with the Mutt brand. A 320mm disc with a four-piston caliper is mounted on the front wheel, while a 220mm disc with a single-piston caliper is on the rear. For suspension, Mutt has equipped the DRK-01 with a 51mm inverted front fork and twin gas shocks in the rear.
The DRK-01 is available in the same displacements as all other Mutts: 125cc and 250cc. Whether you choose the 125 or the 250 DRK-01, you get a 16-liter fuel tank, a six-speed gearbox, and a seat height of 795mm.
Aside from the engine, the main difference between the two is probably the braking assistance. The 125 has a combined braking system, while the 250 comes with dual-channel Bosch ABS. The 125 (156 kg) is also 10 kg lighter than the 250 (166 kg).
