Tires are the point of contact between the motorcycle and the asphalt and, therefore, are an essential component in performance. In MotoGP, there have been complaints from riders in this regard, with some feeling that the performance of the tires is not always satisfactory.
Danilo Petrucci, who is competing in the World Superbike Championship this year, commented on the issue to MOW Mag: ‘I say that I’m not so sure that everyone is really happy with the performance of the tires. It’s a bit of the same old story, but this year it seems amplified, as if it is now evident that not all tires work in the same way‘.
The Italian spoke about the fluctuations in tire performance and what is said by the riders, emphasizing that there is an apparent inconsistency that makes tires a mystery:
– We see too many ups and downs and from the riders’ statements, however veiled they may be, it is clear that tires are always a bit of a mystery. This does not mean, let it be clear, that everyone is plotting at the table or that there is some design or conspiracy, but simply that tire performance is not always the same.
