Honda is facing a tough period in MotoGP and Joan Mir remains one of only two riders who have not scored points this season. In his first home round, the former world champion is not expecting a miracle in Jerez and wants to take small steps towards a better moment.
“I think arriving at a race like Jerez, where we have all the home fans to support us, will be a help after the difficult weekend we had in Austin. ‘It is important to put that behind us and continue working as we did at the beginning of the year to understand the bike’s capabilities this weekend,’ ” #36 said in a team statement, before ensuring that it is necessary to stay focused on what is possible and not exceed:
– We are realistic about what is possible, and we have to focus on making improvements and seeking to do more in the future. It’s a matter of step by step, of making constant progress and we can’t expect a big leap at this stage.
