The FIM JuniorGP World Championship season started this weekend in Misano, with Jesús Ríos taking a double victory. The Spanish rider was the strongest in both races held.
In qualifying, the MRE Talent rider secured the pole position, putting himself in a privileged position to fight for strong results. However, he had to fight hard to achieve the victories.
In the first race, after one lap the lead was with Ríos, but the rider never led another lap… until the final pass at the finish line, beating Alessandro Morosi (Aspar Junior Team/CFMoto) by just 22 thousandths. The podium was completed by Marcos Uriarte (Aspar Junior Team/CFMoto) at 0.308s. The top seven were separated by less than a second.
In the second race as well, there was a large group of riders fighting for the top spot and only on the final lap did Ríos finally take the lead. To do so, he overtook two rivals on that last lap, crossing the finish line 0.318s ahead of Adrián Cruces (Finetwork Team/KTM) – who was the leader for most of the race. Cormac Buchanan (AGR Team/KTM) took the final podium spot at 0.487s.
