Marc Márquez has the future open. The rider signed with Gresini only for the 2024 MotoGP season, in a kind of transition year after Repsol Honda where the main goal was to feel competitive again and capable of fighting at the front.
For now, he is achieving it, at a time when the rider market continues to see confirmations in factory teams. The eight-time world champion commented on the matter to TNT Sports:
– I hope the market is more passionate. It will take longer to sign contracts. Each manufacturer hired a top rider – Ducati got Pecco [Bagnaia], Yamaha got [Fabio] Quartararo, the next will be Aprilia. They will keep one of their two, then they will wait for their second rider.
In his personal case, Márquez believes there are many possibilities, especially if he shows competitiveness: ‘For me, all doors are open. If you are fast on track, more doors are open. So, that is my goal‘.
At the moment, the Spaniard assured that he is feeling good… and is open to considering proposals: ‘I am in a different position because I am enjoying myself and feel competitive. I am open to hearing everything‘.
